Understanding Sales Funnel 2020

The Awareness Stage is at the Top of your Funnel or TOFU. It means, this is your first interaction with a potential client; this is the part where they know that you exist.

This stage can make or break you.

It can break you if you send the wrong message. This saying may be old but, first impressions last, and many online people are quick to judge. That is why when you are online; you treat it as if you are dealing with people in real life. Your mindset should always be, best foot forward.

Allow me to make things simple for you.

Your Wildly Important Goal or WIG is to generate sales leads.

Your Lead Measure is to create content that provides the following

  • tells who you are and what your company stands for.
  • tells your market how you and your company can solve the problem of your target market.

If you are to look at it that way, it seems easier, let me tell you the truth, it is not easy, but it is achievable. The next question to ask yourself will, how can you work on these lead measure?

  1. How can you tell people who you are and what your company is all about?

Do people but from companies whose identity they know nothing about? Of course, they do, but do they have a lot of customers? No, they don’t.

When people buy your product or service, they are not just buying your product or service; they are buying into the concept of your identity. That is why the world needs to know what you and your business stand for.

So, how can you tell people who you are and what you stand for?

  • Provide content that reflects your company values.
  • You can share your story, videos, photos, or a campaign through social media. People spend at least two hours a day on social media. They even check companies and products on Instagram to see how people feel about them. Use this opportunity to present your company amazingly.

2. Why Should People Pay Attention?

Are you valuable enough to worth’ people time? Well, you need to ask yourself, and the answer should be yes. If your answer is no, it means you do not believe your own company and product, so why would others pay attention to you?

People will pay attention to things that add value to their day to day life. People will look for something that will provide solutions to their problems.

Here’s how you can make people pay attention

  • find the best problem you can solve and talk about it.
  • Be the solution to that problem.

It is that simple.

There are a lot of ways to express these in a sales funnel. I understand if you will feel like this is a lot of work, and let me remind you, this is just the awareness stage, this is only the top of your funnel. You are just trying to get people’s attention, and you still have more steps to go through before the leads you generate will convert.

Going back to awareness stage, now that you know what to focus on, on your lead measure, which is telling people who your company is and selling yourself as a solution to their problem, how can you deliver the message and what are the best tools needed to get the job done?
